Patrick Reed wins Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour

Patrick Reed clinches victory in Dubai; Andy Sullivan finishes second, with DACH players in mid-field positions.

American Patrick Reed secured the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, the jewel of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Despite not matching his earlier successes on the final day, an even-par round was enough for the San Antonio, Texas professional to claim victory.

Mixed Final Round is Enough for Victory

Reed was not flawless on the front nine, recording at least one bogey on his scorecard. On the back nine, he balanced out an earlier mistake on hole 10 but missed two attempts on hole 11 to hole the ball, resulting in another bogey with four strokes over par. He regained composure by making up for it on hole 13. Finishing with 14 strokes under par, Reed secured the title comfortably ahead of France’s Julien Guerrier, Spain’s David Puig, and England’s Andy Sullivan. This victory propelled Reed in the Race to Dubai from 107th to 2nd place.

DP World Tour: Sullivan Fights to Second Place

Andy Sullivan managed to prove himself in the closing meters of the final round to finish alone in second place. The Englishman started the front nine with a disastrous four bogeys and only one birdie. However, on the back nine, Sullivan recovered some strokes and saved a 71-round thanks to four birdies. He also played birdie on the 18th hole, claiming second place at the last moment. With ten strokes under par, he remained well behind winner Reed but was pressured until the very end by third-place finishers David Puig and Julien Guerrier.

David Puig closed the final round with a 73 and finished, tied with Julien Guerrier, at nine under par overall. Guerrier improved his position by seven places on the leaderboard with a strong 69-round.

DACH Players in the Midfield of the Leaderboard

The four DACH players who made the cut on Friday placed in the midfield or lower midfield of the leaderboard. Marcel Schneider ended the final day with a 74-round and dropped 14 places to T33, sharing this position with DP World Tour favorite Rory McIlroy
