Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to return, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitive type who gets highly motivated during high-level competitions, something he had limited opportunities for in LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injuries threatening his career’s end and to secure a solid retirement fund. Hence, skipping the final contracted season is unsurprising, though questions remain about possible buyout or repayment of guaranteed salary. He also remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, which appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation abounds regarding where Koepka will compete next: DP World Tour, where he would be eligible immediately—perhaps paying a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance after previous lifetime bans were softened. Why be vindictive when every prominent LIV returnee aids the long-dominant tour? According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally requested to reactivate his PGA Tour membership last Friday, after not renewing post-2022.
