Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated it was a mutual agreement. However, Koepka, known for his competitive nature and peak motivation in high-level sports, had limited enthusiasm for LIV. He had moved there in 2022 mainly due to injury threats to end his career and secure a good retirement fund. It is unsurprising he skipped the last contract year, though questions remain about potential buyouts or returned guaranteed money. Also, does the 35-year-old remain owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now led by Talor Gooch?

Speculations rise on which tours Koepka will next play. DP World Tour would grant immediate eligibility, possibly with penalties. PGA Tour holds a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, recently softened from a lifetime ban by former commissioner Jay Monahan. Allowing prominent LIV returnees facilitates the PGA Tour’s interests. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally requested reinstatement of his PGA Tour membership last Friday.
