Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives in top-level contests and has been less motivated at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. The decision to skip the last contracted season raises questions: did he have to buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed pay? Does he remain an owner of LIV team Smash GC, which has appointed Talor Gooch as captain?

Speculations are rampant about where Koepka will compete next. The DP World Tour would allow immediate playing rights, likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension post his last LIV event after previous lifetime bans were softened. Why hold grudges when LIV returnees benefit the PGA Tour? According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player roster.
