Marcel Schneider Impresses with Nearly Flawless Performance on DP World Tour

The third round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour began with four remaining German-speaking players in the field. Marcel Schneider stood out on Moving Day in Dubai, delivering a nearly flawless round early on the leaderboard. Three birdies on the front nine set the foundation for his strong play. His excellent short game around the greens paid off well. Two more birdies on the back nine were offset by a single bogey on the 17th hole. With a day score of -4, Schneider positions himself in the top 20 heading into the final day, competing for high placements.

At the top of the leaderboard, Patrick Reed was able to pull away. After a mixed front nine, the American added three birdies on the back nine while remaining otherwise flawless. He finished with a day score of -5 and a total of -14, holding a four-shot lead going into the final round.

\”It’s always great to start Sunday with the lead. We all play for the chance to win on Sunday. I know it won’t be easy; it never is, no matter how big your lead,\” Reed said.

Direct follower David Puig impressed with a strong -6 round on Saturday, recording seven birdies and just one bogey, bringing him to -10 after three days. Viktor Hovland also delivered a bogey-free round with seven birdies to reach -9, tied for third place with Andy Sullivan going into the final round.
