Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected: Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he only found limited in LIV. Having joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury concerns and to secure a substantial retirement fund, his decision to forgo the final contractual season isn’t surprising, though questions remain about financial details. At 35, is he still owning the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?

Speculation abounds about where Koepka will next play: DP World Tour, where he is immediately eligible, possibly facing a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension stemming from his last LIV event remains, although previous lifetime bans have since been significantly reduced? Why hold grudges when LIV returnees benefit the longer-established tours? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which he did not renew after 2022.
