Membership renewed, no ban: Koepka immediately back on the PGA Tour

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for a comeback, Charley Hull launching YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated the separation was amicable. Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives in high-level contests, was only moderately motivated at LIV. He switched to the Saudi-backed league in 2022 mainly due to injuries threatening his career and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping his final contracted season is understandable though questions remain about possible buyouts or refunds. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation grows about where Koepka will next compete: DP World Tour with immediate playing rights, possibly with a penalty? Or PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV event, given former commissioner Jay Monahan reduced lifetime bans? Anyone returning from LIV to PGA Tour greatly benefits that Tour. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been extended past 2022.
