Odyssey uses AI: The new Ai-DUAL putters aim to improve ball speed and precision with smart insert design.
Odyssey, a subsidiary of Callaway, has expanded its putter line with the new Ai-DUAL models, combining material innovation and cutting-edge design. At the center is the Ai-DUAL Insert, a two-layer urethane component developed with Artificial Intelligence. It features a soft outer layer and a firmer inner layer, designed to ensure consistent ball speed across the face and improved forward roll. The insert is complemented by the new Forward Roll Design (FRD) groove, deeper and more pronounced at a 19-degree tilt than previous models, to promote a more consistent forward roll across the entire face.
Entry-Level Models Also Developed with AI
The Ai-DUAL putters are available in various configurations. Standard models feature a lightweight steel shaft with a counterweight at the grip end for stable stroke motion. For players preferring different balance, Odyssey offers Cruiser variants with heavier heads, longer and heavier shafts, and longer grips.
The Odyssey Ai-DUAL Square 2 as a Zero-Torque Putter
An addition to the line are the Ai-DUAL Square 2 putters, featuring a modern mid-hosel shaft design. This positions the shaft below the center of gravity, causing the putter to rest slightly upward at the tip and achieving the so-called ‘Zero Torque’ effect. This design keeps the face relatively square throughout the stroke. These models also come preset with a slight two-degree forward shaft lean, preventing accidental face opening when the hands push forward. A specially designed reverse taper grip compensates for this setting, allowing comfortable, parallel alignment of the grip and putter face.
