Odyssey Introduces AI-Enhanced Ai-DUAL Putters for Improved Precision

Odyssey uses AI: The new Ai-DUAL putters aim to boost ball speed and precision with smart insert design.

Odyssey, a subsidiary of Callaway, has expanded its putter line with the new Ai-DUAL models, combining material innovation with novel design. At the core is the Ai-DUAL insert, a two-layer urethane element developed using artificial intelligence. It features a soft outer layer and a firmer inner layer, intended to provide consistent ball speed across the face and improve forward roll. The insert is complemented by the new Forward Roll Design (FRD) groove, which is 19 degrees more angled and deeper than previous models, promoting more uniform forward roll across the face.

AI-Developed Models Also for Beginners

The Ai-DUAL putters come in various versions. Standard models feature a lightweight steel shaft with a counterweight at the grip end to stabilize the stroke. For players preferring different balance, Odyssey offers Cruiser variants with a heavier head, longer and heavier shafts, and longer grips.

The Odyssey Ai-DUAL Square 2 as a Zero-Torque Putter

An extension to the line is the Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square putters, featuring a modern, centrally hoselled shaft design. This positions the shaft below the center of gravity, causing the putter’s tip to rest slightly upward, achieving the ‘Zero Torque’ effect. This design helps keep the face square through the stroke. Additionally, these models have a preset forward shaft lean of two degrees to prevent inadvertent opening of the face when pressing forward with the hands. A specially designed reverse-taper grip counters this preset angle, allowing comfortable, parallel alignment of grip and face.

With the new Ai-DUAL models, Odyssey combines technology, materials, and design to enhance consistency and precision in putting. Both the classic and Square 2 Square versions demonstrate the company’s commitment to innovating traditional putter design to optimize putting performance.
