Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for more, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains associated with the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition and motivation, which he found limited in LIV. He initially joined LIV Golf in 2022 largely due to injury concerns and to secure a substantial retirement fund. His decision to forgo the final contract year is unsurprising, though questions remain about buyout terms and his ownership status of the LIV team Smash GC, which has named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations arise about where Koepka will next compete—on the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty payment; or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, following a reduction of Jay Monahan’s former lifetime bans. It seems the key question is partly answered: according to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership after it was not renewed post-2022.
