The WTGL launches in winter 2026-27 with TMRW Sports announcing top LPGA Tour players joining the new team golf platform.
TMRW Sports revealed the first group of LPGA Tour players committed to the WTGL, a new team golf platform in partnership with the LPGA. The global roster includes world number one Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, rising English star Charley Hull, three-time Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand, Canada’s most successful female golfer Brooke Henderson, and seven-time US Solheim Cup participant Lexi Thompson.
High Profile Stars Join WTGL
Similar to the TGL, the WTGL will feature some of the sport’s top stars. The first wave of committed players clearly reflects that. Leading the pack is Jeeno Thitikul, the world number one who has won five LPGA Tour awards and seven LPGA titles. At only 22 years old, she has led the world rankings since August 2025 and is considered one of golf’s brightest talents.
Joining the new league next year is also Charley Hull, currently ranked number 5 globally. Hull has three LPGA Tour wins and is renowned for her impressive 15-9-3 record over seven Solheim Cups representing Team Europe.
LPGA Hall of Famer and former world number one Lydia Ko will also compete in the WTGL. The 28-year-old has accumulated 23 LPGA victories including three majors and three Olympic medals.
Canada’s Brooke Henderson was the fourth player announced by TMRW Sports. She boasts 14 LPGA Tour wins, including two major titles, making her the most accomplished Canadian golfer in history.
The final face of the initial WTGL group is Lexi Thompson. The 30-year-old American won the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship, becoming the second youngest major winner in LPGA Tour history.
\”WTGL Will Be A Global Stage\”
Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports, expressed strong optimism about WTGL’s future: \”WTGL will be a global stage where LPGA stars can shine, and this first wave of committed players represents that opportunity with some of the world’s best. Fans will admire their skills and enjoy unprecedented access, creating a deeper connection with their personalities through the modern matchplay team format.\”
Scheduled to start in winter 2026/27, WTGL will provide a fast-paced team matchplay season at the specially built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Building on the foundation of TGL presented by SoFi, WTGL will showcase the abilities, personalities, and team spirit of participating LPGA stars. The league will incorporate TGL’s signature features such as microphone moments, risk-reward team decisions, and the throwing of the hammer, alongside advanced technology-driven shot data and analytics integrated seamlessly into competition. With Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures as lead capital partner, WTGL is TMRW Sports’ second project and operates in partnership with the LPGA.
