Koepka’s Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Back on PGA Tour Now

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains affiliated with the competing circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Those who know Koepka understand he is highly motivated by high-level competition, something that was somewhat lacking during his LIV stint. Koepka originally joined LIV Golf in 2022 primarily due to injuries and to secure substantial retirement funds. Hence, his decision to forgo the final contractual playing year is unsurprising, though questions remain regarding contract buyouts or repayments. It’s also unclear if he retains ownership of his LIV team, Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is growing about which tours Koepka will join next – the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly facing a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension was imposed post his last LIV appearance but has been significantly softened. Why hold grudges when LIV returnees, especially prominent ones like Koepka, serve the benefits of the established tours? Reports by ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reveal Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, seeking reinstatement.
