With a strong team performance and a historic moment by Justin Rose, Los Angeles beats New York in the Tomorrow Golf League.
On Tuesday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) match featured the New York Jupiter Links Golf Club (with Max Homa, Kevin Kisner and Akshay Bhatia) against the Los Angeles Golf Club (with Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala). The match was highlighted by the first albatross in TGL history. The Los Angeles Golf Club firmly secured the win during the second format phase, the Singles.
Triples Phase: Early Hammer Gives Los Angeles the Lead
During the Triples phase, Los Angeles threw the first hammer on the second hole, earning two points early. Jupiter Links responded with their first hammer on the fifth hole to gain a valuable point. Los Angeles extended its lead on the sixth hole and closed the Triples with a 4:1 score after Jupiter Links incurred a penalty on the final hole of the phase.
In the Singles phase, the momentum swung in favor of Los Angeles. Justin Rose opened the tenth hole (Par 5) with a confident 300-meter drive down the fairway, followed by Max Homa’s solid, albeit shorter, shot for New York. Homa’s second shot landed just short of the green, setting New York up to recoup points.
Historic Moment: Justin Rose Scores TGL’s First Albatross
Justin Rose made history on the tenth hole by scoring the first albatross in TGL history, using a 4-iron from 210 meters, thrilling the SoFi Center crowd. Even Tiger Woods smiled, noting he had never achieved an albatross in his own career. This spectacular shot extended Los Angeles’ lead to 5:1.

On holes twelve and thirteen, Jupiter Links clawed back three points. Kevin Kisner made a par on twelve after Collin Morikawa incurred a penalty. Max Homa then earned an additional two points with a birdie, tightening the score to 4:5 and making the finish exciting.
Final Holes Decide: Los Angeles Closes Out the Match
Los Angeles, saving a hammer for later, used it on the penultimate hole, which Jupiter Links accepted to avoid elimination. Collin Morikawa’s par sealed the hole and effectively ended the contest. Jupiter Links failed to recover on the final hole, and the match concluded with an 8:4 victory for Los Angeles.
This win brings Los Angeles back into playoff contention with a 1-1-0 record
