A life-size bronze statue of the Spanish golf legend Severiano ‘Seve’ Ballesteros, erected in 2009, has vanished from his hometown Pedrena, located in the Cantabria region of Spain, according to city officials. Spanish authorities have launched an investigation after the municipal council of the larger Marina de Cudeyo area announced on Instagram that the ‘unfortunate event’ over the weekend indicates the bronze statue was stolen. The council has asked the public for any information: ‘If anyone noticed suspicious activity, especially within the last 24 hours, please inform the Guardia Civil or local police immediately.’
