With a strong team effort and a historic moment from Justin Rose, Los Angeles defeats New York in the Tomorrow Golf League.
On Tuesday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) saw a matchup between New York’s Jupiter Links Golf Club (featuring Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Akshay Bhatia) and Los Angeles Golf Club (including Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala). The match was highlighted by the first-ever albatross in TGL history. The decisive victory for Los Angeles came during the second phase, the Singles.
Triples Phase: Early Hammer Gives Los Angeles the Lead
During the Triples phase, Los Angeles threw the first hammer on the second hole, securing two points. Jupiter Links responded with their own hammer on the fifth hole, earning a key point. Los Angeles extended their lead with another point on the sixth hole and finished Triples with a 4:1 score after Jupiter Links incurred a penalty stroke on the ninth hole.
In the Singles phase, the momentum swung sharply in favor of Los Angeles. Justin Rose opened the tenth hole (Par 5) with a powerful 300-meter drive on the fairway. Max Homa of New York followed with a shorter but solid shot, positioning his team well to potentially recover points.
Historic Moment: Justin Rose Achieves TGL’s First Albatross
However, Justin Rose stunned everyone at the tenth hole by hitting an albatross from 210 meters out with a 4-iron, electrifying the fans at the SoFi Center. Even Tiger Woods smiled, admitting he never achieved an albatross in his career. This shot pushed Los Angeles ahead 5-1.

On the 12th and 13th holes, Jupiter Links clawed back three points. Kevin Kisner made a Par on the 12th after Collin Morikawa received a penalty. Max Homa earned two more points with a birdie that kept the match close at 4:5 as it neared the end.
Final Holes Decide: Los Angeles Closes Out the Match
Los Angeles saved a hammer for the penultimate hole, forcing Jupiter Links to accept it or be eliminated. Collin Morikawa sealed that hole with a Par, effectively ending the contest. Jupiter Links could not recover on the last hole, and the match ended 8:4 in favor of the California team.
With this win, Los Angeles moves back into playoff contention with a 1-1-0 record, while Jupiter Links suffers their fifth consecutive loss since last season
