With a strong team performance and a historic moment by Justin Rose, the Los Angeles team wins against New York.
On Tuesday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) saw the New York-based Jupiter Links Golf Club (featuring Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Akshay Bhatia) face off against the Los Angeles Golf Club (with Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala). The match was highlighted by the first-ever albatross in TGL history. The Los Angeles Golf Club secured a decisive victory during the second phase of singles matches.
Triples Phase: Early Hammer Gives Los Angeles the Lead
During the triples phase, Los Angeles threw the first hammer on the second hole, earning two points. Jupiter Links responded with their own hammer on the fifth hole, capturing an important point. Los Angeles extended their lead on the sixth hole and finished the triples phase with an overall 4:1 score after Jupiter received a penalty stroke on the final hole.
In the singles phase, the momentum shifted strongly towards Los Angeles. Justin Rose opened the tenth hole (Par 5) with a confident 300-meter drive. Max Homa from New York played a solid but shorter tee shot, positioning his team well for a comeback.
Historic Moment: Justin Rose’s First Albatross in TGL
Rose then made history with an albatross on the tenth hole, hitting a 210-meter approach shot with a 4-iron, stunning the crowd at the SoFi Center. Even Tiger Woods remarked he has never achieved an albatross in his career. This shot extended Los Angeles’s lead to 5:1.

On holes 12 and 13, Jupiter Links rallied, scoring three points with Kevin Kisner earning a par on 12 and Max Homa birdying after a New York hammer accepted by Los Angeles, tightening the score to 4:5.
Closing Phase: Los Angeles Seals the Win
Los Angeles saved a hammer for the penultimate hole, forcing New York to accept to remain in play. Los Angeles won that hole with a par from Collin Morikawa, effectively sealing the match. New York could not score on the final hole, and the game ended 8:4 in favor of the California team.
With this win, Los Angeles improves to 1-1-0 and stays in playoff contention, while Jupiter Links suffers its fifth consecutive loss since last season. Jupiter heads into a week off before facing defending champions Atlanta Drive on February 2, while Los Angeles returns to play February 9 against Bay Golf Club
