Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aiming for a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

Expected: Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season, which begins on February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but requires more time with his family, according to a friendly agreement stated by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he found limited at LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 due to injuries that threatened his career and to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, his decision to forgo the final contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about any possible buyout or repayment of guaranteed fees. He also remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which has named Talor Gooch as its new captain.

Speculation abounds about which tours Koepka will join next. He is immediately eligible to compete on the DP World Tour, possibly with a penalty fee, or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV start despite previous lifetime bans being softened by the former commissioner Jay Monahan. The PGA Tour’s recent approach to LIV returnees has been less vindictive, favoring reintegration especially of prominent players. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which was not continued after 2022, seeking to be readmitted to the players’ circle.
