Golf Week Preview: Four Tournaments with Many German Players

Four tours provide seven days of golf action from the Bahamas to the PGA Tour and Dubai, featuring several German players. Golf week preview:

Korn Ferry Tour: Long Monday in the Bahamas

The international golf week kicks off early on the Bahamas with the Korn Ferry Tour. The first round of the Bahamas Great Abaco Classics is underway at the Great Abaco Club on Winding Bay. Due to darkness, the first round could not be completed as planned, resulting in an exceptionally long Monday on the course. Currently, the clubhouse leader stands at -5 while Ben Taylor leads alone at -6 after 15 holes played.

The tournament runs until Wednesday and is broadcast daily from 8:00 pm on MagentaTV.

DP World Tour: Star-Studded Field and Strong German-Speaking Presence in Dubai

The DP World Tour remains in Dubai at the Emirates Golf Club. Seven German-speaking players will start at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on Thursday. Alongside Nicolai von Dellingshausen and Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Freddy Schott, Bernd Wiesberger, and Jeremy Paul will compete for a $9 million prize fund. International star power is also guaranteed with Rory McIlroy, a four-time winner of the event, among the favorites. Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Reed, and Francesco Molinari will also be there. Nacho Elvira, fresh off his win last week in Dubai, will tee off with added confidence.

The Dubai Desert Classic will be broadcast on MagentaTV starting at 8:30 am on Thursday and Friday, and from 8:00 am on the weekend.

PGA Tour: Scheffler Starts the 2026 Golf Year

The PGA Tour also starts on Thursday at the Pete Dye Stadium Course in La Quinta, California, where Scottie Scheffler begins his 2026 season. After a stellar 2025, the world number one aims to continue his success, with a title at the American Express Championship still missing from his achievements.

Defending champion Sepp Straka from Austria will also compete. It will also be intriguing to see if Ryan Gerard (2nd place at the Dubai Invitational) and Patrick Rodgers (3rd place at the Dubai Invitational) can maintain their strong form. Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid will represent the German colors.

MagentaTV broadcasts daily from 5:30 pm Thursday through Saturday.

PGA Tour Champions: Legends Tee Off in Hawaii

The PGA Tour Champions kicks off the week’s finale with the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hualalai from Friday to Sunday. Two German golf legends, Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka, will compete alongside international stars like Miguel Ángel Jiménez. They face competition including Vijay Singh, who warmed up in Hawaii with a recent PGA Tour cut.

MagentaTV will broadcast live from Hawaii from 1:00 am on Friday morning.
