Membership Restored, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh making a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This amicable agreement was officially announced by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives under top-level competitive pressure, something he lacked in LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, skipping his final contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about financial arrangements and his ongoing ownership of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation revolves around which tours Koepka will join—DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible potentially with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV event after lifelong bans were significantly softened by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Why hold grudges when returning LIV players benefit the PGA Tour, which holds stronger leverage? According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, left unrenewed after 2022.
