The week kicks off in the Bahamas with the Korn Ferry Tour at the Great Abaco Club on Winding Bay, where the first round of the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic is underway. Play was interrupted by darkness, promising a long Monday of golf. The clubhouse lead stands at -5, with Ben Taylor holding a -6 after 15 holes.
The DP World Tour remains in Dubai, moving to Emirates GC for the Hero Dubai Desert Classic starting Thursday. Seven German-speaking players are in the field, including Nicolai von Dellingshausen, Marcel Siem, Marcel Schneider, Joel Girrbach, Freddy Schott, Bernd Wiesberger, and Jeremy Paul. International star power is strong as four-time winner Rory McIlroy is among the favorites for the title again this year.
On the PGA Tour, play also starts Thursday at the Pete Dye Stadium Course in La Quinta, California. Scottie Scheffler begins his 2026 season aiming to build on his stellar 2025 year. A win at The American Express championship still eludes the world number one. Austrian defending champion Sepp Straka returns, with German representatives Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid also competing.
The PGA Tour Champions season opens with the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hualalai from Friday to Sunday. Legends including Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka from Germany will compete, alongside Vijay Singh who recently made a PGA Tour cut in Hawaii.
