Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury uncertainties and to secure a solid retirement fund. It is therefore unsurprising that he opted out of the final contracted season, though questions remain about financial settlements and his ownership of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will next compete: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were substantially reduced. A key question seemed partly answered as ESPN reporter Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which expired after 2022, to rejoin the player ranks.
