Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Action

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh makes a comeback, Charley Hull launches on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, known for his competitive spirit at the highest level, has shown limited motivation in LIV. He initially joined in 2022 amid injury concerns, seeking a substantial retirement fund. The decision to skip the final contract year raises questions: Did he buy out his contract? Does he remain co-owner of the Smash GC team, with Talor Gooch now captain?

Speculation abounds about where Koepka will play next. Potential options include immediate eligibility on the DP World Tour—likely with a penalty—or a return to the PGA Tour after serving a one-year suspension for his last LIV appearance, following a significant reduction of previous lifetime bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan. This pivotal question seems partly answered; ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks.
