Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Action

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh making a comeback, Charley Hull soon launching a YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains linked to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. LIV CEO Scott McNeil confirmed a friendly agreement. However, Koepka, known for thriving in top-level competitive environments, found limited motivation at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns threatening his career and the prospect of securing a substantial retirement payout. His skipping the final contract year is therefore not surprising, though questions linger over potential buyouts or partial repayment of guaranteed fees. Koepka also remains owner of the LIV Smash GC team, which has appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation abounds regarding which tour Koepka will next compete on — the DP World Tour, where he would immediately regain eligibility, possibly facing a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV appearance despite previous lifetime bans being softened. It appears the latter question has been partially answered: ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which lapsed after 2022, seeking reinstatement among tour players.
