Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh making a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitive type who thrives on high-level competition and has been somewhat limited in motivation with LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury doubts about continuing his career, aiming for a comfortable retirement fund. So his decision to skip the last contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or repayments. He still owns the LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch named team captain.

Speculation is rife about which fairways Koepka will appear on next. The DP World Tour could immediately sanction him, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would serve a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance after lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were significantly reduced. This crucial question seems partly answered now. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership which was not renewed after 2022 and to be reinstated in the player roster.
