Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers; Vijay Singh is back; Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will stay connected to the competing circuits but needs more time for his family. This mutual agreement was made public by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitive player who thrives on high-level competitions, something he didn’t fully experience at LIV. He shifted in 2022 largely due to injury concerns and wanting to secure his retirement fund. His decision to forego the final contract year is not surprising, though questions remain about financial settlements and his continued ownership role in LIV’s Smash GC team, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will play next — DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible (possibly with a penalty), or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension post his last LIV appearance, but these lifetime bans have been greatly softened. Why be vindictive when every LIV returnee aids the powerful PGA Tour? The key question appears partly answered: according to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks.
