Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returning, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who gets motivated and fired up in high-level sports contests, which he found limited at LIV Golf. He initially joined LIV in 2022 primarily because of injury concerns and wanting to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, his decision to forgo the last contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or repayments. Despite this, the 35-year-old remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch now captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will next compete—DP World Tour, where he would have immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would serve a one-year suspension from his last LIV event after previous lifetime bans were softened. This key question seems partially answered: according to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022, seeking reinstatement.
