Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour in 2026

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull to launch on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season, which begins on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner plans to stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he lacked at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns, seeking a substantial retirement fund. Thus, skipping his final contracted season is understandable, though questions remain about potential buyouts or salary repayments. He remains the owner of LIV’s Smash GC team, with Talor Gooch appointed as captain.

Speculations abound regarding which tour Koepka will play on next. He would immediately be eligible for the DP World Tour, likely facing a penalty fee. On the PGA Tour, he would serve a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, after the previous lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were significantly softened. Why hold grudges when every returning LIV player benefits the more dominant tour? This question seems partly answered: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, to rejoin the player ranks.
