Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching a YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner intends to stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, known as a fierce competitor who thrives in high-level contests, was less motivated on LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Therefore, skipping his final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or refunding part of his guaranteed pay. He also remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will appear next – the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a fine? Or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension applies since his last LIV event after the lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were significantly softened? The key question seems partly answered now. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022, aiming to rejoin the players’ circle.
