Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Action

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is back, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major winner will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, a fiercely competitive player, has not found the LIV environment fully motivating and switched there in 2022 when injuries threatened to end his career, seeking a solid retirement fund. This makes his decision to skip the final contracted season unsurprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayments. Koepka, 35, still owns his LIV team Smash GC, which has recently named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation is rife on where Koepka might next compete—on the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty, or on the PGA Tour, where he still faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event. With lifetime bans from former commissioner Jay Monahan substantially softened, a return to the PGA would benefit both Koepka and the tour. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported last Friday that Koepka formally applied to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, ending his gap since 2022.
