Membership Renewed, No Ban: Brooks Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Play

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull coming soon to YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a competitive spirit who thrives in high-level contests, found limited motivation in LIV Golf. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and the opportunity to secure substantial retirement earnings, making the waiver of his last contracted season unsurprising, though questions remain about potential buyouts or reclaimed guaranteed payments. The 35-year-old also remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, which has appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will next appear. He is immediately eligible to play on the DP World Tour, possibly with penalties, or could return to the PGA Tour after serving a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, following the previous lifetime bans softened by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Why be vindictive when every returning LIV player, especially such a prominent one, benefits the largely dominant PGA Tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach recently reported Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership last Friday.
