Membership Restored, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Play

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon launching a YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil confirms this was a mutual agreement. Koepka, known as a competitive fighter, thrives on high-level competition, which LIV offered only to a limited extent. After joining LIV in 2022 amid injury concerns and for financial security, Koepka foregoes his final contract year, raising questions about buyouts and his ownership status of LIV’s Smash GC team captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation grows on where Koepka will play next: immediate eligibility on the DP World Tour possibly with a penalty? Or a return to the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance, following softened lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. This critical question seems partially answered. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks after 2022’s non-renewal.
