Cobra’s New King Tec Mini Driver: A Hybrid Between Driver and Fairway Wood

Cobra introduces the King Tec Mini Driver, a versatile tool for precise tee shots and enhanced control in your bag.

A traditional driver isn’t the first choice for every type of player; sometimes it’s too long, too error-prone, or lacks control. This is exactly where Cobra’s new King Tec Mini Driver comes in. The club features a 303 cc head volume and a shaft length of 43.75 inches, closer to a fairway wood than the typical 460 cc driver. According to Cobra, this leads to more consistency and a tighter dispersion pattern, both off the tee and from the fairway.

Cobra King Tec Mini Driver: Compact, Versatile, Adjustable

The King Tec Mini Driver is designed for those who prioritize precision over pure distance off the tee. The smaller clubhead is said by Cobra to be easier to align while still providing a familiar feel at address. Players who have been wavering between a 3-wood and a driver will find a promising intermediate solution here. Compatibility with the FutureFit33 shaft system opens additional setup options.

Technology for Variable Needs

Two weights – one 12 grams, one 2 grams – can be positioned either forward or back. Depending on their placement, the center of gravity can be adjusted: a forward setup offers more speed and less spin, while a rearward weighting provides more stability and forgiveness. This allows players to fine-tune ball flight according to course conditions or personal preference. Technically, the King Tec Mini Driver includes all the features expected from a modern Cobra club. The combination of a titanium body, carbon crown, and PWRSHELL H.O.T. face ensures stability, controlled launch angles, and consistent ball speed—even on off-center hits, where little distance is lost.

FutureFit33: Rethinking Loft and Lie

At the heart of the Mini Driver is the new FUTUREFIT33 hosel, allowing 33 different independent settings for loft and lie. According to Cobra, adjustments can be made quickly and easily while the SMARTPAD technology keeps the clubface neutral in every position. This significantly enhances fitting flexibility for both tour players and custom fittings.

Custom Configuration Options

The King Tec Mini Driver will be available starting January 16, 2026. Cobra ships the model standard with an MCA Kai’li Blue 60 shaft in Regular or Stiff flex. For more precise tuning, further options are available through custom fitting. The price is set at 500 euros. According to the company, the custom-built models are produced in Helsingborg, Sweden.
