The DP World Tour kicks off its International Swing in Dubai, while the PGA Tour begins the new year without its usual opener in Hawaii. Watch live golf on TV.
The Dubai Invitational launches the DP World Tour’s International Swing at the Dubai Creek Resort. Defending champion Tommy Fleetwood faces a star-studded field including Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Francesco Molinari, and Masters champions like Patrick Reed. The event starts with a Pro-Am format (60 pros, 60 amateurs), with only the professionals competing for the title on Sunday. Representing Germany, Nicolai von Dellingshausen and Marcel Siem kick off the new season.
The PGA Tour’s 2026 season starts unusually: The Sentry in Kapalua was canceled due to ongoing drought. Instead, the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu opens the new season. The tournament offers $9.1 million in prize money and the first FedExCup points of the year. Defending champion Nick Taylor is participating, along with past winners and Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley. German player Matti Schmid also represents the German flag.
