Gregor Biernath moves from Sky to MagentaTV, strengthening the new golf team as extensive live broadcasts begin.
After securing exclusive broadcasting rights for the Ryder Cup, the DP World Tour, and the PGA Tour, MagentaTV has also gained a prominent commentator from Sky Sport. The broadcasts will begin as early as January 15, 2026, offering a total of 131 events on two channels, positioning MagentaTV as the new home for live golf on television.

Gregor Biernath, one of the most well-known golf voices in the German-speaking region, is leaving Sky to lead MagentaTV’s new expert team, supported by golf experts Florian Zunker, Bernd Ritthammer, and Max Kramer. Commenting on his move, Biernath said, “The entire team immediately gave me the feeling that something new and good for the sport of golf is being created here. We can innovate and refresh golf coverage on MagentaTV.” He described the team as a “cool editorial crew” with a “really good mix.”
New faces have also been added to the commentary team. Michael Born, previously known for handball and football commentary at DAZN, will commentate alongside Herbert Gogel and Stephan Gandel. Additionally, Holger Speckhahn, known primarily as an ice hockey presenter for MagentaSport, will also cover the upcoming live broadcasts.
