Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land: A Luxury Refuge in Germany’s Green Heart

The splendid ensemble in Germany’s green heart Thuringia is seen as the ultimate destination. A third golf course is planned soon.

Every space breathes the spirit of its owner. This is especially true at the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land, located just 20 minutes from the cities of Goethe, Schiller, and Bauhaus in Weimar. The Grafe family has created a refuge where even the smallest detail reflects the founders’ commitment to quality and style.

A Special Touch of Personal Hospitality

This personal hospitality shapes the entire resort’s atmosphere: from 94 hotel rooms and suites and seven family residences to the LindenSpa, which was expanded to 3,000 square meters in 2023 with high-end wellness offers, and up to the seven restaurants now operating in the resort.

Seven Restaurants, Two Michelin Stars

Among these, the Masters led by Chef Danny Schwabe and The First by Marcello Fabbri have each held a Michelin star for several years, offering French and Italian-inspired haute cuisine, making Weimarer Land unique in this regard. The Güldene Zopf in the nearby town of Blankenhain focuses solely on Thuringian specialties. Additionally, every January the Culinary Open invites Michelin-starred chefs to a walking dinner event.

Goethe- and Feininger-Course: Each 18 Holes

Designed by architect Achim Reinmuth from Städler & Reinmuth Golf Design, the resort features two main 18-hole golf courses: the forested Goethe-Course (5,971 meters, par 72) located in the scenic Weimar hills, and the flatter Feininger-Course (5,707 meters, par 71), featuring numerous water hazards and challenging greens. The original Bobby Jones Champion-Course (6,280 meters, par 73) is preserved as the essence of the resort and mainly used for large tournaments.

The resort also includes the Queens Louise 9-hole course and the Luke Ross Hall with three Trackman simulators to complete the golf experience. Surrounding facilities such as a riding stable and FIFA-standard football training fields emphasize the resort’s diverse sporting offerings, including tennis, paddle tennis, and basketball courts.

With an ongoing vision, Matthias Grafe continues to invest in both golf and football, fostering the resort’s growth as a premier destination for golf enthusiasts and sports teams alike. Plans for a third 18-hole golf course on 110 hectares of forested land are underway, aiming to further enhance the resort’s unique appeal.
