After losing the PGA Tour and DP World Tour rights, Sky secures the rights to LIV Golf and the Asian Tour from 2026, offering around 600 hours of live golf coverage.
Following the loss of exclusive broadcast rights of the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour in the German-speaking region to Telekom’s Magenta TV starting 2026, Sky has now secured broadcasting rights for LIV Golf and the major events of the Asian Tour from 2026. Sky Sport will air 30 events from both tours, totaling roughly 600 hours of live television coverage.
Sky reacts to rights loss by entering LIV Golf and Asian Tour
Hans Gabbe, Senior Vice President Sports Rights & Commercialization at Sky Deutschland, is pleased that Sky Sport holds long-term broadcasting rights to all four men’s major championships, the five women’s major tournaments, all key women’s events, and now also the LIV Golf league and Asian Tour rights. He states, “The global LIV Golf schedule and its unique team and individual competition format offer fans access to some of the biggest golf stars and great venues. Our customers can look forward to innovatively produced golf events featuring many of the world’s most exciting and best players.”
The partnership kicks off on Friday, January 9, 2026, with live coverage of the qualifying event “LIV Golf Promotions 2026” at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida, where an international field competes for three coveted wildcard spots for the 2026 LIV Golf League season. Participants include German pros Dominic Foos, Max Kieffer, Max Rottluff, and Austrian Matthias Schwab. Sky Sport Golf will broadcast LIV Golf Promotions live daily from 16:00 to 21:00.
Extensive live golf coverage with LIV Golf League and Asian Tour
With the LIV Golf League and Asian Tour and over 1,000 hours of live coverage annually, Sky Sport continues to offer a comprehensive golf program to its customers. DP World Tour and PGA Tour tournaments will be available from January 15, 2026, on Magenta TV. Golf fans wanting to watch top tournaments live weekly will need two subscriptions going forward.
