The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons combine distance, forgiveness, and design. Discover the latest in game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a new generation of game-improvement clubs designed to deliver enhanced distance, forgiveness, along with improved sound and feel, addressing both performance and aesthetic needs.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation of Game-Improvement Irons

A key focus was the clubface design. Many game-improvement irons have asymmetrical faces that flex unevenly on impact, often leading to cut-spin and shots veering right, especially on strikes towards the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, producing more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was crucial. Both models include a sound-stabilizing bar connecting the rear bar with the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted impact noises. Additionally, the ECHO damping system material is positioned higher in the face, reducing vibrations and creating a solid sound while maintaining satisfying feedback at impact. Individually optimized faces and new internal structures further enhance speed and consistent distance.

Two Options for Different Players

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. The FLTD CG positions the center of gravity low in long irons to promote a high launch and strong stopping power, while moving higher in short irons to aid distance control. A Speed Pocket in irons 4 to 8 maintains ball speed on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with larger clubheads, taller faces, and stronger soles and toplines to boost confidence and stability. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, paired with ultralight heads, shafts, and grips, making them especially suitable for players with slower swing speeds seeking greater clubhead speed, launch angle, and stopping power.

New Design and Availability

Both models feature a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons are available in steel at €183 per club and graphite shafts at €200 per club. Pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability in stores beginning January 29, 2026.
