TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons combine distance, forgiveness, and design in a complete package. Details on the new game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing the next generation of game-improvement irons focused on enhancing distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, addressing both playing needs and aesthetics.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next-Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development aspect was the clubface design. Many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact due to their asymmetrical shape, with a higher toe than heel, causing additional cut-spin on toe hits leading to shots going right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a redesigned clubface that bends more uniformly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights while maintaining high ball speed.

Sound, Feel and Internal Enhancements

Performance is complemented by enhanced feel. Both models include a sound stabilizer bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted noise on impact.

The ECHO damping system material has been elevated further in the clubface to reduce vibrations and produce a solid sound without losing impact feedback. Individually optimized faces and new internal structures further boost speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons are designed for players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact shape, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade length, and less offset with the head seamlessly transitioning into the hosel. With FLTD CG, the center of gravity in long irons is positioned low for high launch and strong stopping power, moving higher in short irons to support distance control. A Speed Pocket in irons 4 to 8 maintains ball speed even on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness, offering larger head profiles, higher faces, and wider soles and toplines for increased stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, benefiting players with slower swing speeds. This enhances clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping ability equally.

New Design for the Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both models showcase a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel shaft for 183 euros per iron and graphite shaft for 200 euros per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability at retailers from January 29, 2026.
