TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and design improvements in game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade introduces the Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement irons tailored for increased distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, addressing both performance and aesthetic preferences.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: The Next-Gen Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Due to its asymmetrical construction with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact, causing shots hit toward the toe to generate extra cut-spin and veer right. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons have a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond pure performance, feel was crucial. Both models include a sound stabilization bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted impact noises. The ECHO damping system material has been moved higher in the clubface, reducing vibrations and providing a solid sound without losing impact feedback. Individually optimized clubfaces and new internal structures support speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel transition. FLTD CG positions a low center of gravity in long irons for high launch and stopping power while shifting it higher in short irons to aid distance control. From 4 to 8 irons, a Speed Pocket ensures stable ball speeds on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with larger head profiles, higher clubfaces, and thicker soles and toplines for added stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, benefiting players with slower swing speeds to increase clubhead speed, launch angle, and stopping power.

Fresh Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both irons feature a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. Available from January 29, 2026, the steel version is priced at €183 per iron and graphite shaft variants at €200 per iron, with pre-orders starting January 8, 2026.
