Sky Sport Secures Live Rights for LIV Golf and Asian Tour from 2026

After losing PGA Tour and DP World Tour rights, Sky secures LIV Golf and Asian Tour broadcasts with 600 hours of live golf from 2026.

After the broadcaster Sky Sport lost the exclusive rights to the DP World Tour and PGA Tour in the German-speaking region from 2026 to Telekom’s Magenta TV, Sky has now acquired the broadcasting rights for LIV Golf and the main tournaments of the Asian Tour starting in 2026. Sky Sport will broadcast 30 events from both tours, totaling around 600 hours of live coverage.

Sky Reacts to Rights Loss by Acquiring LIV Golf and Asian Tour Rights

Hans Gabbe, Senior Vice President Sports Rights & Commercialization at Sky Deutschland, is excited that Sky Sport will hold long-term rights to all four men’s major tournaments, the five women’s major tournaments, all major women’s events, and now also the LIV Golf league and Asian Tour. He said, “The global schedule of LIV Golf and its unique team and individual competition format offer fans access to some of the biggest golf stars and great venues. Our customers can look forward to innovatively produced golf events and many of the most exciting and best players in the world.”

The partnership begins on Friday, January 9, 2026, with live coverage of the qualifying event ‚LIV Golf Promotions 2026‘ at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida, where an international field competes for three coveted wild card spots for the 2026 LIV Golf League season. Among the participants are German professionals Dominic Foos, Max Kieffer, Max Rottluff, and Austrian Matthias Schwab. Sky Sport Golf will broadcast the LIV Golf Promotions daily from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm live.

With the LIV Golf League and Asian Tour, plus over 1,000 hours of live coverage annually, Sky Sport continues to offer an extensive golf program to its customers. Coverage of DP World Tour and PGA Tour tournaments will be available on Magenta TV from January 15, 2026. Golf fans wanting to follow weekly live golf and major tournaments across their devices will need two subscriptions in the future.
