After losing PGA Tour and DP World Tour rights, Sky will broadcast LIV Golf and Asian Tour live from 2026 with around 600 hours of coverage.
After losing the exclusive broadcasting rights of the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour in German-speaking countries to the Telekom Magenta TV network from 2026 onwards, Sky Sport has now secured the rights to LIV Golf and the main tournaments of the Asian Tour starting in 2026. Sky Sport will broadcast 30 events from these tours, totaling around 600 hours of live golf on TV.
Sky Responds to Rights Loss by Joining LIV Golf and Asian Tour
Hans Gabbe, Senior Vice President Sports Rights & Commercialization at Sky Germany, is pleased that Sky Sport will hold the long-term rights to all four men’s Major tournaments, the five women’s majors, all important women’s tournaments, and now also the rights to the LIV Golf League and Asian Tour. He states: „LIV Golf’s global schedule and unique team and individual competition format provide fans access to some of the biggest golf stars and great venues. Our customers can look forward to innovatively produced golf events and many of the most exciting and best players in the world.”
The partnership kicks off on Friday, January 9, 2026, with live coverage of the qualifying event “LIV Golf Promotions 2026” at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida, where an international field competes for three coveted wildcard spots for the 2026 LIV Golf League season. German pros Dominic Foos, Max Kieffer, Max Rottluff, and Austrian Matthias Schwab will be among the participants. Sky Sport Golf will broadcast LIV Golf Promotions live daily from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
With the LIV Golf League and the Asian Tour, along with more than 1,000 hours of live coverage annually, Sky Sport continues to offer an extensive golf program. Coverage of the DP World Tour and PGA Tour tournaments will be available on Magenta TV from January 15, 2026. Golf fans wishing to follow the sport live weekly and watch the major tournaments on their devices will need to subscribe to two services in the future.
