TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer a complete package for distance, forgiveness, and design. Details on the latest game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement clubs designed to enhance distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also addressing aesthetic aspects.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Due to an asymmetrical design with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact, causing extra cut spin and shots veering right on toe hits. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to flex more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights combined with high ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Beyond performance, feel was important. Both models include a sound stabilization bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing the topline and reducing unwanted noise at impact. Furthermore, the ECHO damping material has been extended higher into the clubface to reduce vibration and produce a solid sound without losing impact feedback. Individually optimized clubfaces and new internal structures also support speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and reduced offset with a seamless transition from hosel to clubhead. Using FLTD CG, the center of gravity is positioned low in long irons for higher launch and good stopping power, shifting higher in short irons for distance control. The 4 to 8 irons incorporate Speed Pocket technology for stable ball speeds on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with larger clubheads, taller faces, and wider soles and toplines for increased stability and confidence. The lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultralight heads, shafts, and grips, benefiting players with slower swing speeds by enhancing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping power.

New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both models feature a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel for €183 per iron and graphite shafts for €200 per iron. Pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with in-store availability from January 29, 2026.
