TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Gen Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and sleek design in a complete package.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, a next generation of game-improvement irons focused on enhancing distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, while also addressing aesthetic aspects.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development focus was the clubface. Due to its asymmetric construction with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly at impact, causing extra cut-spin and shots drifting right when struck towards the toe. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball launches and straighter ball flights with high ball speeds.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Refinements

Beyond pure performance, feel played an important role. Both models integrate a sound stabilizing bar connecting the back bar to the topline, stabilizing it and reducing unwanted sounds at impact.

The ECHO damping system material has also been moved higher in the clubface, reducing vibrations and creating a solid sound without losing impact feedback. Individually optimized faces and new internal structures further support speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset with a seamless hosel. The FLTD CG positions the center of gravity low in the longer irons for higher launch and good stopping power, while shifting it up in the shorter irons to aid distance control. From 4 to 8 irons, the Speed Pocket maintains ball speeds on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons focus on maximum forgiveness with a larger head profile, taller faces, wider soles, and thicker toplines for enhanced stability and confidence. The lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max, combined with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, benefitting players with slower swing speeds by increasing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping power.

New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both irons sport a bright, monochrome design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel for 183 euros per iron and graphite shafts for 200 euros per iron, pre-orders begin January 8, 2026, with availability in stores starting January 29, 2026.
