TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

The new TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons offer distance, forgiveness, and design in a complete package. Discover the details of these game-improvement irons.

TaylorMade introduces the new Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons, representing a new generation of game-improvement irons focused on advancements in distance, forgiveness, sound, and feel, catering to both performance needs and aesthetic preferences.

TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL: Next Generation Game-Improvement Irons

A key development aspect was the clubface. Due to its asymmetrical design with a higher toe than heel, many game-improvement irons tend to deform unevenly upon impact, causing additional cut spin and rightward shots on toe strikes. The Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons feature a clubface engineered to bend more evenly, resulting in more stable ball flight and straighter trajectories alongside high ball speed.

Sound, Feel, and Internal Enhancements

Besides performance, feel was a major focus. Both models incorporate a sound stabilization bar that connects the back bar to the topline, enhancing topline stability and reducing unwanted impact noise.

The ECHO damping system material has been elevated higher in the clubface, reducing vibrations while maintaining solid feedback on impact. Custom-optimized clubfaces and new internal structures further promote speed and consistent distance.

Two Designs for Different Player Types

The Qi Max irons target players seeking distance and forgiveness in a relatively compact design, featuring thinner toplines, shorter blade lengths, and less offset as the head transitions smoothly into the hosel. Thanks to FLTD CG, the center of gravity in long irons is positioned low to enable high launch with strong stopping power, while it shifts higher in short irons to support distance control. From the 4-iron through 8-iron, the Speed Pocket ensures stable ball speeds on low strikes.

The Qi Max HL irons emphasize maximum forgiveness with larger head profiles, higher clubfaces, and thicker soles and toplines, boosting stability and confidence. Their lofts are 3° weaker than the Qi Max irons and paired with ultra-light heads, shafts, and grips, they especially benefit players with slower swing speeds, enhancing clubhead speed, launch height, and stopping power equally.

New Design for Qi Max and Qi Max HL Irons

Both iron models sport a bright, monochromatic design inspired by the P-Series. Available in steel at 183 euros per iron and graphite shafts at 200 euros per iron, pre-orders start January 8, 2026, with availability in stores from January 29, 2026.
