TGL Expands: WTGL Brings LPGA Golf to High-Tech Arena in 2026

TGL expands with the new WTGL, launching an arena league for LPGA players by late 2026.

The idea has been around for some time and is now official: TGL will have a sister league. What had been hinted at for months was confirmed in a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. TGL is entering its next phase, and this time it is focused on women.

WTGL: Familiar Concept, New Faces

What works for the men is planned to work for women’s golf as well, so familiar elements will be used: two teams, two hours, one match, played with a high-tech setup including simulators, real greens, and a shot clock. The live audience in the arena and viewers on TV will see every shot as it happens, with microphones in constant use. “It’s about showing personality, not just performance,” said McCarley.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league is more than just an additional platform. WTGL is not only about more playing days. TGL has demonstrated that the arena format reaches new target groups who often only follow traditional tournament golf peripherally. Over 40 percent of fans in the inaugural season were aged 18 to 49, many of whom previously had no connection to golf. This reach is expected to benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, in office since summer 2025, views the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic move. Fans will get to know the players better and experience their stories—not just their scorecards. “We want to create closeness, trust, and put our athletes in the spotlight,” said Kessler. Demand is high: many top players have already shown interest, and some have visited the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
