The first official tournaments have to wait until next week, but LIV Golf’s promotion event where players compete to qualify is live on TV.
At the LIV Golf Promotion Event 2026, players compete for starting spots in the upcoming season of the LIV Golf League. The tournament takes place from January 8 to 11, 2026, at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Florida. The top three players of the tournament earn a full starting spot in the 2026 LIV Golf League. Additionally, the top 10 players (including ties) automatically qualify for the International Series 2026.
The tournament is played over four rounds of stroke play. After round 1, the top 20 players and ties qualify for round 2, with scores reset. The same applies after round 2, with the top 20 advancing to rounds 3 and 4. Rounds 3 and 4 are played with cumulative scoring. A playoff only takes place if needed to determine the winner or the second and third places.
