TGL Expands: WTGL Brings LPGA Golf into High-Tech Arena by 2026

TGL expands with the new WTGL launching end of 2026, a dedicated arena league for LPGA Tour players.

The idea has been circulating for some time and is now official: TGL is getting a sister league. What had been hinted at for months was confirmed during a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. TGL is entering its next phase, and this time, it’s for the women.

WTGL: Familiar Format, New Faces

What works for the men is expected to succeed in women’s golf as well, so the league sticks to the familiar: two teams, two hours, one match played with a high-tech setup combining simulators, real greens, and a shot clock. The live audience in the arena sees every shot in real time, just like viewers at home. Microphones are also continuously active. “It’s about showing personality, not just performance,” McCarley said.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league is more than just extra playing days. WTGL aims to reach new audiences, as TGL’s arena format proved successful in attracting fans between 18 and 49 years old, many without prior golf interest. This expanded reach is intended to benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, who took office in summer 2025, sees the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic move to create closeness and trust between fans and athletes while putting female golfers in the spotlight. Interest is high—many top players have already expressed enthusiasm, with some visiting the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
