TGL Expands: WTGL Brings LPGA Golf to High-Tech Arena in Winter 2026

The TGL expands with the new WTGL, launching a dedicated arena league for LPGA players at the end of 2026.

The idea has been around for a while, and now it’s official: the TGL is getting a sister league. What had been hinted at for months was confirmed in a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. The TGL is entering its next phase, this time spotlighting women.

WTGL: Familiar Concept, New Faces

What works for the men is set to work in women’s golf as well, sticking to a familiar format: two teams, two hours, one match, played in a high-tech setup featuring simulators, real greens, and a shot clock. The live audience in the arena and viewers at home see every shot live, with microphones actively capturing the atmosphere. “It’s about showcasing personality, not just performance,” said McCarley.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league is more than just an additional competition platform. WTGL is not only about adding more playing days. The original TGL has demonstrated that the arena format reaches new audiences, many of whom only casually follow traditional tournament golf. Over 40% of fans in the first season were aged between 18 and 49, many previously unaffiliated with golf. This reach is now set to benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, who took office in summer 2025, sees the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic move. Fans will get to know the players better, experience their stories — not just their scorecards. “We want to create closeness, trust, and put our athletes in the spotlight,” said Kessler. Interest is high: many top players have already expressed interest and some have visited the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
