TGL Expands: WTGL Brings LPGA Golf to High-Tech Arena from Winter 2026

The TGL is growing: Starting late 2026, a new arena league for LPGA Tour players will begin.

The idea has been around for some time, and now it is official: The TGL is getting a sister league. What had been hinted at for months was confirmed during a press conference by TMRW CEO Mike McCarley and LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler at the SoFi Center in Florida. The TGL is entering its next phase, and this time it’s for the women.

WTGL: Familiar Concept, New Faces

What works for the men should also work for women’s golf. The concept remains familiar: two teams, two hours, one match, played with a high-tech setup including simulators, real greens, and a shot clock. The audience in the arena sees every shot live, just as viewers at home do. Microphones are once again in constant use. “It’s about showing personality, not just performance,” says McCarley.

A New Stage for Women’s Golf

For the LPGA, the new league means more than just additional playing days. The TGL has shown that the arena format reaches new audiences, many of whom previously only followed traditional tournament golf from the sidelines. Over 40 percent of fans in the first season were aged between 18 and 49, many without previous golf interest. This reach is now expected to benefit women’s golf as well.

Commissioner Craig Kessler, in office since summer 2025, views the partnership with TMRW Sports as a strategic move. Fans will get to know the players better and experience their stories—not just scores. “We want to create closeness, trust, and spotlight our athletes,” Kessler explains. Interest is strong: many top players have already expressed enthusiasm, and some have visited the SoFi Center to watch the men’s matches.
