TGL: Atlanta Drive GC Extends Winning Streak Against The Bay GC

Atlanta Drive GC wins an exciting TGL match 7-4 against The Bay GC, maintaining their unbeaten run.

Heading into the third match of the new TGL season, the roles were clear: defending champions Atlanta Drive GC arrived at the SoFi Center with a win under their belt, while The Bay Golf Club was set for their first outing of the new campaign. After 15 holes, Atlanta secured a 7-4 victory. The decisive lead was built by the team featuring Billy Horschel, Patrick Cantlay, and substitute Chris Gotterup, particularly in the singles format, where Atlanta won four of six points. After a balanced start, Atlanta made their move from hole 11 onwards. \”We come in, train, play our game – it works,\” said Horschel. Despite the absence of the injured Justin Thomas, the team’s depth is evident. It marked their ninth win in the last ten TGL matches – an impressive record.

TGL: Gotterup Brings Atlanta Back Into The Match

Chris Gotterup again made his mark for Atlanta, appearing on the scoreboard for the second consecutive time. After a scoreless start on hole 1, Gotterup gave Atlanta a lead with a par putt from about nine feet on hole 2. The Bay responded immediately with a hammer use, pulling ahead 2-1. A turning point came on hole 6, known as \”Alpine,\” when Gotterup chipped in for an eagle, leveling the match once more. Even though The Bay did not use their hammer, the emotional lift was clear: tie game. \”I try to see as much as possible on the greens – it’s not easy with all this lighting,\” Gotterup said. \”But when you make putts like that, you get a sense of what’s coming.\”
